Notes from the Border  #1              12 May, 2010

I was lucky enough to spend last Sunday afternoon with the fellow that’s run such a long, dangerous, and lonely trail in bringing us www.borderinvasionpics.com . He’s an outstanding and impressive person, one could say one of the more outstanding “Scout Journalists” of our time. Underneath his somewhat gruff and brusque exterior there’s obviously the mind of a reflective and very analytical commentator. I personally am of the opinion that his efforts, and the record garnered there from, constitute one of the potentially more pivotal works of investigative journalism in our times.

For years now this fellow has run the rugged mountain ridges and trails of Southern Arizona , scouting and setting game cameras on the “Invasion Trails” and smuggling routes. If you haven’t been to his website, I encourage you to now do so, and do bring a coffee.

The mission that this scout journalist has so clearly accomplished is a scathing enditement of those who have sworn to secure our Borders, and fascinating in its’ visual impact. Putting this together has been no easy task either. The “Bush Savvy” and sheer formidability as a Scout / Stalker required leaves one somewhat in awe, and candidly impressed with his “survivability”. Given that one is discussing “Hunting the most Dangerous Game”, Robert Ruarke himself would have to doff his hat and nod. The “Coyotes” and Narco-Terrorists that regularly traverse our Border are not the nicest folks, if you get my general drift.

The most recent “Catch” recorded the faces of 700 Illegal Aliens heading their way North and as well, some “Mule Trains” that were carrying SUBSTANTIAL loads of narcotics. In an action almost surreal in it’s dishonesty, a CBS media affiliate (KPHO TV, Phoenix ) recently stole this and all but presented it as their own. Sadly but predictably, they also put a very disingenuous “Left Spin” on the plundered material. You can review that debacle Here: http://dailyradar.com/beltwayblips/video/kpho-altered-video-altered-message-1/

Were it just the miscreants to the South that one had to “Watch his Six” for in the pursuit of this invaluable evidence, well that would be one thing. The USCBP is not at ALL happy with material of this nature surfacing. This material, de facto, “blows their cover” as to the depth of abysmal failure the job securing of our Southern Frontier  currently reflects.

If you at this point are feeling unimpressed, spooked, or blasé, I would encourage you to seek another, and lighter venue in which to pass some time. If on the other hand you are saying to yourself, “Wow, this is kinda’ neat! I wonder how I can get involved, or help? ” well, my first order of business will be to THANK YOU for your interest and concern. You are among a GROWING group of concerned citizens that are prepared to candidly recognize the looming threat that the crisis on our Border represents, and that the stakes are high in this game we CANNOT afford to loose.

This is the pilot copy of what I’m hoping will be a series of brief, concise reports from my humble desk, as to how the situation here on the Mexican Border are shaping up. Clearly we’re in the midst of a VERY dangerous, dynamic and fluid situation. I’m going to be elaborating further as to how all of this projects itself on my screen, and hope that future updates, as they are sent out, WILL be of assistance in getting you involved, in areas where YOUR expertise may be of great value.

I’d like to make something EMPHATICALLY clear. This is NOT a “Militia Operation”.

If you do not share the view that information is our most POWERFUL tool, ….If you harbor notions about “Minefields, 50BMGs, Claymores, etc”,…..If you are just looking for trouble,…..you’d best go make your nest somewhere else.

If on the other hand, you believe that “A picture IS worth a thousand words”, and your interest lies with seeing the borderinvasionpics effort go forward, expanding across our entire Nation, than I’ll look forward to contributing in that regard. For the time being, keep your spirits up, and take heart in the fact that INFORMATION is THE key to turning this Border situation around in a reasonable, legal, and expeditious manner. Until next time, keep your nose into the wind, and your eyes on the horizon.                                                                       GTC,  Cochise County, Az.
